People often quote the following statement made by Ellen G. White: "Christ's method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Saviour mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them, 'Follow Me.'" Doesn't that say we should win souls by going to parties and other gatherings of worldly people? Not exactly. To get the full picture of what Christ's methods were, we need to read what precedes these sentences in Ellen White's statement (see Welfare Ministry, pp. 59-60). It may be only a dream, but I wonder what the church will be like when we really use Christ's methods? |
