The word love has become cheapened to the point where it is not uncommon to hear someone say "I saw two dogs making love" or speak of "homosexual lovers" or say "I just love apple pie." Then, in the next breath, they may say that God is love. As long as the English language has only one word for love, and God is love, we might consider using other words to describe relationships to people and things that either have nothing to do with God or are inconsistent with what He is. When a one-hundred-dollar bill and a penny are valued the same, neither are worth much. |
