Hello, brothers and sisters in Christ.
I'm new to this forum. Ed Sutton and newbie know me from another forum.
I am middle aged and married. I am an Adventist church member. The SDA church context I am located in is very liberal compared to other parts of the world. I find this very challenging.
What I need most is courage in my walk with the Lord. The current divisions in the SDA church make me afraid to speak up and make my position known. I also get distracted from my devotional life. I'm hoping that this forum is a safe place for me to grow. Hopefully, what I read here and my interactions with you will increase my knowledge and courage. I do not want to be ashamed of the traditional Adventist message. I want to be a faithful follower of Jesus and share His present truth regardless of circumstances.
I look forward to following the discussions on this forum and maybe posting from time to time.
Warm Regards
Shireen

We are so glad you have joined us, Shireen! I pray you will be blessed! Rest assured, you are not alone, but even if you were the only faithful one in the world, you would be in the majority because all of heaven are on your side. Keep looking up, my friend!

I echo what Vicki said. Elijah thought he was alone, but there were thousands who were still faithful. God still has his thousands today.
This year is the 500th anniversary of the posting of Luther's 95 theses on the door of the Schlosskirche in Wittenberg. He seemed mostly alone, but God blessed his efforts and the Reformation forged ahead. God can do more with the "faithful few" than He can with the wishy washy multitudes.

Hi Shireen ..... welcome.

Grateful for Psalms 32 and Titus 2:10 While it is true that God gives the message from Scripture and SOP. The taste I give to others about the message sells it or kills it, I learn to walk it well & cook it well & eat it myself, before I preach it. Then the SDA message appeals by His righteousness.

Regarding the part about being distracted from your devotional life, you are definitely not alone in that. From my own life and from what I've heard from others, I think we all struggle with that. Whether it's distraction during the time we are having devotions, or distracted from even taking the time, it's a battle for most of us.
I would be interested to hear any tips from others as to what helps them in that area of life.
