What to Do About a Dead Church

If your church is dead and you like it that way, shame on you! This sermon rejects the extremes and makes some positive suggestions for liberals and conservatives.

Once evangelism was touted as the cure, but it is an incomplete cure, as long as the source of spiritual death in a local church continues and spiritual life does not come in.

Only surrendered active union with Jesus gets life from above, even doctrines disconnected from Jesus lose their indwelling life, prehistoric amino acids and mud (building blocks waiting for life to be implanted) could not create life and design Eden & humanity in that garden,  even HISTORIC amino acids (building blocks waiting for life to be implanted) can not create life from their own power disconnected from Jesus.

Once it was more common knowledge and practice in Churches how the Bible says to have life from above, engrafted doctrines from God, and human relationships according to divine terms.

Having life from Himself. what did Jesus say about it.

John 5:40  And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

How does a Church member come to Jesus ?

Matthew 16:24  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Mark 8:34  And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Luke 9:23  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

How can it be ascertained if a member has actually come to Jesus ?

John 5:21  For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.

The members do, say, act, think, feel, have the atmosphere around them like a disciple reflecting Jesus .

How would a person know that ?

That is another post ............................ it's time to get ready for work.

Grateful for Psalms 32 and Titus 2:10 While it is true that God gives the message from Scripture and SOP. The taste I give to others about the message sells it or kills it, I learn to walk it well & cook it well & eat it myself, before I preach it.  Then the SDA message appeals by His righteousness.
