When I read this little article went right to Amazon.com and ordered the book that is referenced. I wish some of our 'younger' women would take up this cause. I reference it sometimes in my 'warm up', the first part of a sermon. I still believe as he says that the daughters of God have a duty to discuss this.

I think alot of the time the pastors are worried they will have no young ladies left if he addresses this subject, in sermon or not in sermon form. I myself find it uncomfortable to be around many of the young and not so young women in my home church...and I am a woman myself! The world is certainly creeping in... often it isn't even just the cut of the dress/shirt/skirt but what is on them... the amount of sequens and beads and jewelery and all the rest together all designed to bring attention... colour is an interesting thing to.. in my home church I have noticed if you wear darker colours you seem to stick out more here now! I myself do own alot of bright clothes but am very selective as to when to wear them as to reflect the occation and the audience.
May I also ask... what of Adventist education uniforms? I have actually had to get permition to LENGTHEN my skirt and to wear my jumper all year round because of the cut of the blouse!

I think this has been discussed before, but when men bring up the subject of modesty in women they often get categorized as "dirty old men." I agree that we need more women addressing this issue. And they should do it at both church and campmeeting. Campmeeting is where many people "go casual," and that often translate to immodesty.
As for clothing and school, it seems to me that the RCC has (or they used to) solved that problem to some extent by requiring uniforms for their students. It not only eliminates the modesty problem, it solves to some extent the "competition" as to who has the "coolest" clothing. I've never been a fan of uniforms in our schools, but I can see where it might be an advantage in some instances.

These are issues of mind and heart and expressed using clothing, objects, and lifestyle. Men need to speak to men in these issues, because men speak and act too uncircumspectly to women, and that fuels the fire that Satan tends diligently. Men are not to probe the hearts and lifestyles of women they are not on vantage ground, but at disadvantage.
Satan seeks to use men to ensnare women, and use women to entice and trap men. So to get them in that finished product state of mind, he cultivates pride, vanity, narcissism, love of self, desire to captivate others.
As the genders enter into Satan's advancing grades of his schools of the various evils, their outer appearance gradually changes to be adorned more and more like the inner conditions.
Men understand other men, women understand other women ......................women should research and talk about these things among themselves, and so should men. A man's vanity, and a woman's vanity may manifest differently.
Yes these things should be heard from the pulpit as needed also.

Grateful for Psalms 32 and Titus 2:10 While it is true that God gives the message from Scripture and SOP. The taste I give to others about the message sells it or kills it, I learn to walk it well & cook it well & eat it myself, before I preach it. Then the SDA message appeals by His righteousness.
