If You Have Enough Faith

In the first place, as I may have said before, I don't believe that faith has legs. That is, it doesn't have a life of its own. To me when Jesus said, If you have faith, you can move mountains, I believe He was saying was if you have faith in me, I will, if necessary, move mountains if it is in your best interest.
Jesus will always do what is best for us if we will let
Him
chose what is best. Unfortunately we often actually tell him what to do, how to do it and when we will need it done.
Faith then is trusting that he will do the right thing.,

Interesting that in Luke 5 Jesus says that He SAW their faith. I didn't know you could SEE faith. What did He SEE?
:20: And when he
saw their faith
, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
I agree with your statement... this is how Solomon fell... he started doing things his own way and lost sight of what God had said in the early days. When we do things our own way, it is not long before we think that all that we have done is of ourselves and the pride begins to grow.
Balaam was caught up in this and didn't realize how blind he had become and don't you wish that donkey had warned him a second time?

If you read the story of the man let down through the roof it seems clear that what He saw was faith in action: they
believed
that Jesus could heal him and put that faith into action by doing everything in their power to reach the Source of healing. Faith is not a concept; it always involves action. But, as Pastor O'Ffill has alluded to, it must be action that is in harmony with God's will, not ours.
If our besetting sin is alcohol, and we pray for deliverance, we can't walk into the pub and expect to be kept from temptation. Faith in action leads us away from the pub, or whatever has caused us to stumble in the past.
The only legs that faith has are our own legs.

Here is something I found while surfing the Christian blogosphere, and thought I would share it:
