Title: who are God's elect? or should I say VERY elect?
Post by: newbie on December 08, 2016, 08:35:00 AM
I've heard some say that the heavenly kingdom is only for a few and the call is not for all....  didn't Jesus die for us all?  Man's way is only for one to win the race but Paul says that we can all win the prize...if...  What's missing here?  Read on..

Quote
Every soul is elected who will work out his own salvation with fear and trembling.

He is elected who will put on the armor and fight the good fight of faith.

He is elected who will watch unto prayer, who will search the Scriptures, and flee from temptation.

He is elected who will have faith continually, and who will be obedient to every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The provisions of redemption are free to all; the results of redemption will be enjoyed by those who have complied with the conditions.

{PP 208.1}

Read it all...it's very good and explains why some didn't make it like Esau...because he despised the blessing of the covenant.

funny how no one responded to this...
you all probably think it is a 'no brainer'
well, I have news for you, there are some in our church that believe salvation is only for a few and not everyone has the option...!?

God's elect :
(sons of God )
Followers of Seth - starting to backslide - and follow ways of Cain
Genesis 6:2  That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
Genesis 6:4  There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Angels of Heaven & Adams of the unfallen worlds -
Job 1:6  Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
Job 2:1  Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
Job 38:7  When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

(sons of God by redemption & partnership with Jesus across the ages )
John 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Philippians 2:15  That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
1 John 3:1  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1 John 3:2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

(waiting for God's holy angels & waiting for the final generation/Second Coming )
Romans 8:19  For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

(children of God)
Matthew 5:9  Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Luke 20:36  Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
John 11:52  And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
Romans 8:16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Romans 8:21  Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Romans 9:8  That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
Galatians 3:26  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
1 John 3:10  In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
1 John 5:2  By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

Matthew 5:
43 ∂  Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

The largest number of the elect are presently still in Babylon looking wistfully to heaven, we who claim to be the elect have the responsibility to act like it, prepare, get fully charged with Heaven's current, and learn the culture & cycle of evangelism, and call for the stirring in the mulberry trees as it were and just enter our neighborhoods and door to door evangelize.  1. prepare - education     https://courses.avadvance.org   (https://courses.avadvance.org)   2. prepare - charging station = imitate upper room / first love - go out and do it - God supplies the recharge currents once plugged in.  But not until plugged in.

"I've heard some say that the heavenly kingdom is only for a few and the call is not for all...."

This seems quite clear to me.

John 3:14 ... even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Over every man good and evil angels strive.  It is the man himself who determines who shall win.  1SM 158

Elect <1588>  <1586>  The <1588 / 1586 > are the chosen during the Sanctuary decisions of , who are saved - those Jesus intercedes for and ministers their election - being found in divine nature partnership thus recreated made trustworthy and actively decided to love God,  or the lost - found undependable and refusing to actively love God, refusing the forsaking of any and all self interests in order to do so.   Power of God to become and obey, chosen or refused = elect or damned.

Matthew 20:16  So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen <1588>.
Matthew 22:14  For many are called, but few are chosen <1588>.
Matthew 24:22  And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the electís sake <1588> those days shall be shortened.
Matthew 24:24  For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect <1588>.
Matthew 24:31  And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect <1588> from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Mark 13:20  And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the electís sake <1588>, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
Mark 13:22  For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect <1588>.
Mark 13:27  And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect <1588> from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
Luke 18:7  And shall not God avenge his own elect <1588>, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Luke 23:35  And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen <1588> of God.
Romans 8:33  Who shall lay any thing to the charge of Godís elect <1588>? It is God that justifieth.
Romans 16:13  Salute Rufus chosen <1588> in the Lord, and his mother and mine.
Colossians 3:12  Put on therefore, as the elect <1588> of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
1 Timothy 5:21  I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect <1588> angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
2 Timothy 2:10  Therefore I endure all things for <1588> the electís <1588> sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
Titus 1:1  Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of Godís elect <1588>, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
1 Peter 1:2  Elect <1588> according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
1 Peter 2:4  To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen <1588> of God, and precious,
1 Peter 2:6  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect <1588>, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
1 Peter 2:9  But ye are a chosen <1588> generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
2 John 1:1  The elder unto the elect <1588> lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
2 John 1:13  The children of thy elect <1588> sister greet thee. Amen.
Revelation 17:14  These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen <1588>, and faithful.

who are God's elect? or should I say VERY elect

A good formula is found in
Revelation 17:14 "and they that are with him [are] called, and chosen, and faithful."

This has been likened to collage basketball or volleyball --

The call goes out to EVERYONE -- all who would like to play can come out.
Yet out of 300 or so students only about 30 show up.

The chosen --
teams are chosen only of those who showed up.
Those who did not respond to the call were not chosen.

The faithful --
the games are on, but what of the player who keeps shooting baskets for the opposing team?  He's not faithful in working together with his team mates, but works for the opposing team.
He will not be among the chosen if this is what he continues to do.

Thus in the game of life.
Christ calls ALL to come to Him for salvation.
But only those who chose to respond to the invitation can be among the chosen.
Then, those who were chosen show they are faithful by playing for and with their team, listening to their team captain,   they do not score points for the opposing team.

The elect which stand with Christ in the last days are the
called
chosen and
faithful.
