Strengthening existing SDA Churches and starting new ones - HOW ?

2 Timothy 4:5  But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Timothy was commanded to do the work of an evangelist, but what is that work ?

Is it Pastors, Elders, Conference Officials only ?    No - Phillip was both deacon and evangelist .    Acts 21:8  And the next day we that were of Paulís company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.

Acts 6:3  Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
4  But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
5  And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
6  Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

Pastors and Elders and Deacons were always male in Scripture, but what about evangelists ?  How did Jesus make and send out evangelists ?    ( first He converted them - then sent them out - Woman at the well, the former demoniacs, former lepers, disciples & Apostles. ) Too much ranking presiders and not enough in the homes workers, going on in the SDA Church in NAD = weak sick NAD .

SOP helps greatly in answering this.  ( women evangelist* = 73 hits ) LE, Med Missionaries, Physicians, soul winners no matter their line of honest employment.

in their personal labors in families, talking with the members of the family, understanding their spiritual condition, encouraging, reproving with all long-suffering and doctrine, praying with them, binding up his interest with their hearts and souls. This is the work of a faithful shepherd.  {PH002 17.1}

The best survival is evangelism and growth, even if church planting in your neighborhood.

I agree...we're doing all we can...but we know that God gives the increase and not us, we are only seed sowers.

The 5 steps of evangelism as an overview.

1. prepare the sower and prepare the soil.   Christ's 5 step method - MH p-143

2. plant - sow good seed.  Use Christ's principles of witnessing and principles used with woman at the well

3. cultivate - give Bible studies. information-conviction-desire-action- ask for decisions in every Bible study week by week

4. harvest - public and private & baptism.

5. preserve the harvest - new believer classes and mentored discipleship training of the new disciple / member and train and tutor the disciple to win souls.

Gear all evangelism to what salvation and perfection God requires actually is ( character perfection = 50 hits unpublished SOP - see ({Lt80-1898} {11MR 367.2} )  & {Ms114-1909} )  & {7MR 389.1}  )

Three Fold nature of being a Christian like every coin - it has three sides - Heads - Tails - Edge representing the total nature of what it is made of.

1. Union with Father God, and Christ, and the Holy Ghost on their stated terms in the Bible, with heart reception engrafting of Their life and offered character from above, and active human union with them cheerfully.  John 3:3 -21;  1st Peter 1:13-2:8; John Chapters 14 and 15 and 16 and 17; 1st Corinthians Chapter 13; Ephesians 3:8-21; 1 John 3:10, 14; 1 John 4:8,20 .

2 .  The understanding, adorning and heartfelt obedience, engrafting of all the doctrines of the Bible and the testifying of Jesus Christ.   Matthew 13:3-23; Mark 4:2-20; Luke 8:4-15; James 1:17-27; 1st  Timothy 4:13 - 16; 2nd John 1:9-11; Matthew 28:18-20; Revelation 14:7 ( Deuteronomy 10: 12,13,16, 20; Deuteronomy 30:2,6 onward - verse 16-19.)

Example : John 8:1-36 as applies to the Doctrine of Baptism by immersion after being taught, trained, understandingly accepting Christ alone as your Saviour and Master and Lord and obeying the Bible Doctrine of putting on Christ through immersion baptism, joining Christ through His body on earth, the Church that obeys all Scripture.   John 3:23; Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:16; John 4:1-2; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; 1st Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 3:27; Ephesians 5:23; Colossians 1:18, 24; 1st Timothy 3:15 ; Revelation 12:17; Revelation 14:12 .

3. Human relationships on Godís terms.   Matthew Chapters 5 - 7 The Sermon on the Mount, and Isaiah ch 58 and James' and Simon Peter's and Paulís writings .

What would heal your family and yourself toward God ?

Take that with you to the members of your local church family, along with the best food you can fix and go visit each one who will let you visit, talk and build trust and confidence, do something you see they need,  to help them, warm their heart, pray with them if they allow it.

It's a start.

A church that personally prays together in each other's homes, stay together.  They stay together enough to attempt the next step.

Some common mission together.    The vertical / horizontal bond as brethren will get closer.
