Prayer Requested

I would like to ask for your prayers. I am scheduled for abdominal surgery from 8 to10 AM, at Portland A.M.C. on the 3rd of December to remove a tumor which is not thought to be malignant.  Hospital stay is expected to be 3-4 days & 4-6 weeks to recover. I a m very fortunate & blessed to have excellent medical care at a highly rated Adventist Hospital & 2 surgeons trained at LL Med. Sch. , plus a very competent & caring nursing & support staff! Please include them in your prayers! Thank You!

get the tumor out and then do natural methods to fortify the immune system...
detox the body from whatever has caused the immune system to fail...
in my morning and evening prayers RT

Knowing that others are praying is always comforting. Surgery these days at times almost seems routine but for the one going into surgery it's never routine. Prayers will be sent for you.

Restoretruth, I will be praying that the surgery will be supervised and guided by God's hands and be without complications and that you have a rapid recovery with a minimum of pain and discomfort.

Lord,
Please take care of RT as you see best, make him a witness for You and what you stand for while there, reveal Yourself to him while he recovers, grant him much physical sleep and healing, and spiritual awakenings and alertness of heart, more than he can ask or think.  use him in simplicity for the conversion of staff and visitors who need it.

In Jesus name, Amen.

My prayers will ascend with the others, RT.  May God give you the peace that passes all understanding during this time, as well as successful surgery and fast recovery.  Also will pray for those who care for you in the hospital.

Prayer Request Update:

I'd like to thank everyone for their prayers & add a personal note!

I had a resection of the rectum/sigmoid colon  on DEC. 3 & was released from the hospital on Dec. 8. I have been a vegetarian all my life & a vegan for about 25 or 30 years. I put off having a colonoscopy hoping my diet would prevent the occurrence of any per-cancerous polyps. The best news is the toxicology tests came back with no sign of cancer! It was a big mistake on my part to not have regular colonoscopies years ago.It would have made this operation unnecessary because the polyps would have been small enough to have been removed when the colonoscopy was done! I am also fortunate & given a blessing from God that I don't deserve, that this tumor ( the size of two golf balls) was benign!

In talking about this to one of my nurses, she told me that she had finally talked her sister-in-law into having a colonoscopy, at which time they had removed seven polyps.  Her sister-in-law was a graduate from LLU & had a PHD in nutrition. I do not doubt that diet & health habits are helpful in avoiding cancer, but there are many contributing factors & only God knows what causes a person to contract any form of cancer! Even so, our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit & God has given us the responsibility to maintain good health habits!

Thank you all again for your prayers, they are very much appreciated! And thanks to a loving God for His undeserved mercy!

Ditto;

Even with being vegan vegetarians there are a lot of threats out there, radon gas, air pollution, issues with water, gmo, herbicides, insecticides, inoculation contamination, dental fillings, refined foods, stress, issues with lead, mercury, aluminum etc. etc..

My, aren't we the cheery one today.  :-D

All life on earth is slowly deteriorating, and Ellen White makes statements that lead me to believe that the human race (and probably all life on this planet) would eventually become extinct if Jesus wasn't planning to return and restore all things to perfection.  She says that if Adam hadn't had 10 times the natural force (I think that's how she said it) that we have today, we'd already be extinct.

Wonderful news, RT!  So happy to hear from you!  Will you still have such a long recovery period, or is the healing going faster than expected?  Hope it's the latter!

My great-grandmother died of colon cancer before I was born, and the physicians say that I am at a higher risk because of that.  My GREAT-grandmother, and no one else since!   So heredity is also a factor.

Yes, heredity is a contributing factor! I was told over & over by my PCP that I was at more risk because of my mother's history. She had a successful operation for colon cancer when she was about 50 years old.
Recovery time will probally be around six weeks. Thanks again to everyone for their prayers!
