Title: SOP focused - Bible Study Practice - topic "a part of himself"
Post by: Ed Sutton on March 14, 2014, 05:39:39 AM
Since this is Christian entertainment :  We educate ourselves that Bible study can become Christian recreation.

SOP focused - Bible Study Practice - topic "a part of himself"

We find the topic and SOP hits - to focus upon a topic - in this case the phrase "as a part of himself" and we go to the topics in the Bible that SOP focuses this phrase on - and we dig to find, using Jay Gallimore & William Miller's & Moses principles of Bible Study.   ( Moses principles are Deuteronomy 8:3 ( every word from God's mouth ) Deuteronomy 29:29 (whatever God revealed which includes SOP)

WE NEVER DISCONNECT SOP FROM BIBLE WHILE STUDYING !  !  !  Satan always tempts that human Thologanism and higher criticism - claiming mere human academics is the way to go to learn Bible, not so, we are in the last days and need more than human wisdom can supply. we contend with human & supernatural wickedness .  SOP was given to protect us.  Read Roger Morneau's story, "special helps", watch the two video interviews HART Research, Doug Batchelor interview.

Mary learned far better by sitting at the feet of Jesus than by listening to the disputes of the rabbis.   SOP is the testifying of Jesus, Scripture is the testifying of Jesus - both were delivered by the Holy Ghost, and Gabriel the angelic honour guard sent to every prophet.

SOP = testifying of Christ 1st Corinthians 1:6-11.

Hit #1 of 19.

Quote
Chap. 10 - Used by Satan

     She took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Genesis 3:6.  {CC 16.1}

     Having herself transgressed, she [Eve] became the agent of Satan working the ruin of her husband. In a state of strange, unnatural excitement, with her hands filled with the forbidden fruit, she sought his presence, and related all that had occurred.  {CC 16.2}

     An expression of sadness came over the face of Adam. He appeared astonished and alarmed. To the words of Eve he replied that this must be the foe against whom they had been warned; and by the divine sentence she must die. In answer she urged him to eat, repeating the words of the serpent, that they should not surely die. She reasoned that this must be true, for she felt no evidence of God's displeasure, but on the contrary realized a delicious, exhilarating influence, thrilling every faculty with new life, such, she imagined, as inspired the heavenly messengers.  {CC 16.3}

     Adam understood that his companion had transgressed the command of God, disregarded the only prohibition laid upon them as a test of their fidelity and love. There was a terrible struggle in his mind. He mourned that he had permitted Eve to wander from his side. But now the deed was done; he must be separated from her whose society had been his joy. How could he have it thus? Adam had enjoyed the companionship of God and of holy angels. He had looked upon the glory of the Creator. He understood the high destiny opened to the human race should they remain faithful to God. Yet all these blessings were lost sight of in the fear of losing that one gift which in his eyes outvalued every other. Love, gratitude, loyalty to the Creator--all were overborne by love to Eve. She was a part of himself, and he could not endure the thought of separation. . . . He resolved to share her fate; if she must die, he would die with her. After all, he reasoned, might not the words of the wise serpent be true? Eve was before him, as beautiful and apparently as innocent as before this act of disobedience. She expressed greater love for him than before. No sign of death appeared in her, and he decided to brave the consequences. He seized the fruit and quickly ate.  {CC 16.4}

some of these are not word for word repeats & context offers added details to study in Scripture.

Hit #6   Patriarchs and Prophets Chap. 3 - The Temptation and Fall -  {PP 56.2}

Hit #7.   1SP  The Spirit of Prophecy Vol 1  - Chap. 3   {1SP 39.2}

Chapter Three--Concluded. The Temptation And Fall {ST, January 23, 1879 par. 1}

5 SOP hits so that means  "as a part of himself" also refers to 14 other hits - which can be looked at later.

So using these SOP hits and their context in related articles and passages and paragraphs what concepts can be identified, and applications of Scripture relating to Scripture can be identified and learned ?

Perhaps this is a bit off topic but a  very well studied and respected brother said the brother day that Mrs. White was almost disfellowshipped at one time or that they tried to do so. I failed to ask him where he discovered that. I know that EGW was a thorn in the flesh to the NAD at one point and they sent her to Australia to get her out of their hair, so to speak. Is anyone away of an attempt to disfellowship her ?

For clarity, I believe it was from the Methodist church.

Since this post I heard someone say that Battle Creek Church disfellowshipped James and Ellen White at some time.  Don't remember who said it and have no proof.     :?
