Title: Prayer Request for Mom...2014 version
Post by: fifthgenSDA on January 31, 2014, 07:16:21 PM
You all have been so gracious in the past, praying for health problems of my late father and of my now-84-year-old mother. I'm requesting that you please lift her in prayer again for a new problem: she's been in good health for quite awhile, but yesterday developed sciatica for the first time. Her mother used to get it, so we immediately recognized the symptoms. The very bad lower-back and thigh pain are progressing to tolerable levels, but the common-to-sciatica foot and toe numbness is scarey for her. She bravely tries to keep moving, helped by a cane we found in a closet. (I've moved in with her, and am administering hot/cold treatments, nourishing meals and encouragement. An occassional Advil, plus catnip tea have been helpful.)...thank you so much for your prayers to the One who loves her even more than I do!

Day 13....things not really improving much for Mom. Hubby and I were able to get her in to see her doctor yesterday; he confirmed that it's sciatica, but feels what we're currently doing, plus TIME will get her back to normal. It is so hard for her to be patient at 84 years old. She's pretty healthy otherwise, so this is tough on her. And on me. Thank you for your prayers and kind concern.  We trudge on, looking to Jesus, "the author and finisher of our faith."
