we all need Jesus to dwell within and then all these things will come naturally from the inside   :-)

Christ's Shekina glory, through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, living within the temples of our hearts, lived out in the lives of His people, is the last day message. People will react to the presence of God and will either want an experience like this or will want to kill it off.

Yes, we used to be fruit inspecters. Praise God our church has progressed from those days and we no longer have to look at our fellow brothers and sisters. Instead we can look to the author and finisher of our faith.

"used to be"? My friend, the spirit of fruit inspecting is still alive and well in our churches and getting even more so with so much 'worldliness' permeating (in some people's eyes). Like the Catholic Church losing their stranglehold when the Reformation popped up and took drastic measures to keep control, so is the SDA church in our day and age.

You don't think that worldliness is creeping into the church, the Laodicean Church?!  Ellen White said that worldliness in the church is one of the reasons we're still here.

I haven't noticed that the SDA Church, as a corporate entity, it taking "drastic measures to keep control."  If anything they've put their collective head into the sand and ignored a lot of what's going on, or embraced some of it under the mistaken idea that it will keep the youth from leaving.

We will have the wheat and the tares growing in the church until Jesus cleanses it through the sunday laws. So we will have conflict in the church until the end. That is all part of the cleansing process. We also must evaluate the fruit of those around us. We have no Biblical injunction that tells us not to do this but we have instruction by God that we must do this. When we follow Jesus we will know what to do with the information we gather this way, for we must always treat people the way that Jesus would do it.

As for me and mine ... we will keep our eyes on Jesus rather than the incomplete fruits of men.

Been doing alot of reflecting today... especially regarding this subject... Fruit is something other people taste and see... over the last two weeks I've gotten to see the good fruit of compassion while my wife and I have been dealing with the news regarding her cancer.  I've also tasted the bitter fruit of "better than thou"... you are being punished... the universe is watching (as if to see you fail).  etc etc...

Having said all that tho... the fact remains that how I react to a trial shows either that I am depending on God or I am not... do I trust "to His mercy and grace"... right now I really dont care if i am adventist... i dont care if i am saved... all i care about is what can i do to make my wifes remaining time... enjoyable, and full of God's love in how i take care of her.... to me that is what matters...

I'll leave the results with God... yea I have a major wake up call for my diet and will be going veg... and maybe vegan... just depends on what i can handle given whats ahead regarding her recovery/progression of the cancer...but I know that God loves me where i am... and I dont have to "qualify for His love"... i just want to have a desire to please Him in how i treat other people...

It's amazing how some church going people have less compassion than good friends... I've got alot on my plate... and my prayer is that God will give me the strength to stay vulnerable and grow/trust in Him.

with kind regards,

Gracevessel

GraceVessel......I appreciate your clarity.  I hope .....should my husband and I find ourselves in your situation, we will receive from God your attitude.  You seem to have a sound mind, you are a good witness.........

God's Blessings to you both,
Deborah  :-)

Hi SF,
How are you?  I agree with you and myself included.  I fear and tremble because I know I'm not there yet and many feel the same way....

It is a good study especially for this point in time.  My feeling is that 2010 is a pivotal year ....anything can happen.  Slowly things are taking the turn that we all have heard for years in prophecy...

Sabbath: Skipping Sunday services is a "grave sin."   Washington Post

"The Pope said that the "holiness of the Lord's day" must be protected at all costs." VATICAN CITY

Folks, The handwriting is on the wall.  The only thing we can do is to be walking with Jesus.... no time to lose...  this is a most important study and what timely manner!
