Title: Sad News
Post by: Larry Lyons on June 25, 2009, 12:46:46 AM
"For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God, And the dead in Christ shall rise first;" 1Thess 4:16

I wasn't sure where to post this, but I have just been informed that our former member Ed White has died. He was 75. Ed was well known around Adventist forums. He was a colorful character. He had a way of expressing his views that ruffled peoples feathers sometimes. But I had to smile even when I thought he was being a bit too blunt.  I know he loved the Lord and I hope to meet him in person on that day when we "meet the Lord in the air." It has been some time since he was here but I'm sure some will remember him from this and other forums.

I'm glad you posted this Larry...  A year ago this June he was given the diagnosis of acute mesothelioma of the lung.  His left lung was completely eaten up by the asbestos and the doctors did not expect him to live long at all.  He made it a year longer than any doctor thought because of the way he ate and took care of himself.  Most of you may already know that Ed was an electrician and there was one time in the past where the inspectors looked the other way when they were to knock a house down wall by wall.  That home was filled with asbestos and all the men that worked on that house all died of asbestos cancer.  Ed lasted the longest of any of them.  His mother lived 103 years so there was longevity on his side but when it comes to asbestos, it has no cure.  He kept the faith all the way up to the end and did soften some in the last year of his trial.  If you'd ever talk to him on the phone you would not think it was the same person that posted some of those statements that seemed harsh.  In person, he was delightful.  I will miss him.

That is sad news.  When someone like that dies, it does leave a hole that will not be filled till Jesus returns.  I hope he didn't suffer too much.

There will be such a great reunion of peoples...a good thing to look forward to.  A great deal of sadness...but, God will replace it with joy.  We must all believe, wait and hope....these are the gifts He gives us to keep us floating......God will make good on every promise.  That is the kind of Person He is.

God's Blessings'
Deborah  :-)
