Title: Seeking
Post by: newbie on March 26, 2009, 03:21:58 PM
I was taking my daily walk today and a woman rushed up to me crying.  She has lost her little dog and is heart broken.  They have been looking for 5 days and last spotted at the area where I was walking.  They have gone to all the schools and have tons of kids walking and looking, many posters posted all over town, and they are camping out tonight where he was last seen.  I took the phone number and also looked as I took my walk.

I was thinking that if we would seek for our Saviour with this kind of effort, persistence, and love we just might find Him.  And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, if ye shall search for Me with all your heart.

I pray that they will find their little bundle of love.

Few truly seek the Lord with as much passion as this lady for her dog.  How true, Newbie.  I hope she finds her precious little friend.

I have a llittle dog who is my constant companion--when I walk down the hallway she is always right beside me. She keeps her eyes on me when I put her outside  --She barks loudly with separation anxiety when I leave her.   I have often thought that if I were as insistant in keeping my eyes on Christ----how much a better person I would be.

I love dogs and dog stories. I have an adorable 2 year old big black standard poodle. If I lost him I would be heartbroken. I would go to great lengths to find him.

Well, the Good Shepherd also goes to great lengths to find His lost sheep. In the parable of the Good Shepherd, there were 99 which were safely in the fold, but the Shepherd went out to find His one lost sheep.

I believe God seeks us, even when we are not seeking Him. Romans 3:11,12:

11There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

12They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

But God is strong to save, and sends us wake-up calls to bring us to faith.

When I am seeking God through his word, that is when I am happiest. I remember when I first got a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance. I knew it would be used to seek the Lord, so the first thing I looked up was the word seek, so I could quickly find all the promises to those who seek after truth, who seek the Lord. And there are plenty of them.

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Ps 9:10

Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified. Ps 40:16

The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Ps 34:10

I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.  Isa 45:19

Now I no longer use that big book with the itty bitty print, because now strong's is online. I keep the book though, because the time is coming when I may not have a connection to the Internet.  Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near Isa 55:6: http://www.blueletterbible.org/search/translationResults.cfm?Criteria=seek&t=KJV&page=4

Most precious..is the thought that it is the Holy Spirit that inspires us to seek....we then have a choice to seek or not.
