What is our real testing truth? The Jews keep the Sabbath.

Before too long they will not be. The Pope is courting the Jews to a great extent and almost 50% were in favor of a Sunbday law keeping businesses closed on Sunday. apparently it didn't quite go through.

I believe the testing truth is revealed in John 14:15. It isn't the Sabbath alone that marks God last day people but having the "faith of Jesus" revealed in the keeping of all the commandments." Rev. 14:12   Some say that we can be keeping the commandments and not love Jesus. I don't believe that. Even the rich young ruler who thought he was keeping all the commandments wasn't. We can fake it on the outside for a while but this is very temporary.

Rev 14:6  And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Rev 14:7  Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Many do not know there is an investigative judgment ongoing in heavenly courts. Others may disagree, but I believe this the most important testing truth. Many will be lost thinking they were saved at baptism. Through this "unique-to-us" doctrine, the gospel comes alive through an understanding of the sanctuary service which points to Jesus as our High Priest measuring our characters against His great Law.

     The commandment of God that has been almost universally made void, is the testing truth for this time. . . . The time is coming when all those who worship God will be distinguished by this sign. They will be known as the servants of God, by this mark of their allegiance to Heaven. But all man-made tests will divert the mind from the great and important doctrines that constitute the present truth.  {Ev 212.1}

Revelation 14:6 & 7 point to both the Law of God and the Investigative Judgment.

It's hard to say what the real testing truth is since they are all so inextricably linked.  But, if I had to choose... I would say the truth of the Pre-Advent judgment, since knowing that every moment is a defining one (there being no 2nd probationary period), should dictate how we live.

Knowing this truth, we should live in hope... getting acquainted with our Advocate and allowing Him to order our steps (wardrobes, iPods, DVD players, bookshelves, refrigerators, etc.) according to His Divine Will.

Oh dear...while I was sorting out my thoughts, Agatha made a similar point. :lol:

Sweet Ruth - I do believe most of us recognize the same need. We will see how others respond. We have several "present truths" ongoing; however, this one seems to stand out above the others, IMO. As you say, it is encompassing and touches on all other truths.

I agree with all of these....  stand as pillars to our faith.

One point that other denominations do not believe is that we will be able to keep the law perfectly when the divine dwells from within and will be overcomers.

Jesus said, go and sin no more.  So it must be true.

Just before the close of probation, the Sabbath will be the testing truth.

"The Sabbath will be the great test of loyalty, for it is the point of truth especially cortroverted. When the final test shall be brought to bear upon men, then the line of disticntion will be drawn between those who serve God and those who serve Him not. While the observance of the false sabbath in complaince with the law of the state, contrary to the fourth commandment, will be an avowal of allegiance to a power that is in opposition to God, the keeping of the true Sabbath, in obedience to God's law, is an evidence of loyalty to the creator. While one class, while accepting the sign of submission to earthly powers, receive the mark of the beast, the other, choosing the token of allegiance to divine authority, receive the seal of God." (The Great Controversy p 605) From the chapter "The Final Warning."

Jesus prophecies that He will openly use the "golden rule" how folks treat others - as a test - the results of which are revealed when He returns > Sheep > goats.

Could Jesus be using a deeper derivitave of the golden rule within the SDA faith - not just how we treat others, but especially how we treat / trust > abuse/mistrust-call a liar ------ regarding us toward HIMSELF.

Jesus = Lord of Sabbath
Jesus > testifies > sends messages / messengers = Bible
Jesus > starts / orchestrates Gospel progression / time of the end (1798 AD ) puts a check temporarly on persecution's scope and intensity > ushers in and orchestrates time of blessing (1335 days = 1843 AD onward and fulfills and ends time limited time deliniated prophecy 10-22-1844 AD > creates endtime revival/reformation > prophetic movement = SDA Faith & SDA Church.
Jesus resumes testifying > this time to us in America & around the World in English.

But once we as a people have this testifying through another messenger (after Scripture's canon is closed ), how do we treat Jesus in how we treat His chosen messenger ?   How do we treat Jesus in how we treat His messages ?

The Golden Rule going deeper - not just how do we treat each other & our attitude / mindset toward them .

How do we treat Father God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, and our attitude / mindset toward Them ?

How we treat God's teachings, laws, MESSAGES, is how we would treat Them if we had the opportunity and ability - to do so - in person face to face.   Then how we  (view/consider/mindset/attitude/ treat) God - is how we (view/consider/mindset/attitude/ treat) each other.

Whenever we find ourselves opposed to what God says, is the opportunity to know what to go to God with, to seek conversion - new birth - to be reconciled and harmonized with God in that specific and area within ourselves; if we will apply and biblically believe the gospel .

Our final test in the Church - how we treat Bible & S.O.P.& each other  .
Our final test outside the Church -  we cooperate with God, live for Him & in Him, and die for Him if He calls for that, trust Him-hold to Him when  probation closes.

"When the religion of Christ is most held in contempt, when His law is most despised, then should our zeal be the warmest and our courage and firmness the most unflinching. To stand in defense of truth and righteousness when the majority forsake us, to fight the battles of the Lord when champions are few--this will be our test. At this time we must gather warmth from the coldness of others, courage from their cowardice, and loyalty from their treason.--5T 136 (1882).  {LDE 180.4}

If the topic starter has found something that inspiration reveals elsewise, please post it with the reference.

WARMTH  -  COURAGE - LOYALTY > while seemingly alone.

2nd Peter1:  & Isaiah 58 & John ch 17  shed light on this as well, because we can not fight the battles of the Lord and ourselves be saved - if we are carnally minded - we would become Jehu's, perhaps accomplishing God's purposes, but individually becoming castaways.   If carnally minded we would fight with carnal warfare and contaminate God's desired message through us robbing it of it's saving grace to others.    It will be a severe denial of SELFISHNESS to love the sinner and hate the sin - but that's one of the tests Jesus sucessfully passed.

" Love to man is the earthward manifestation of the love of God. It was to implant this love, to make us children of one family, that the King of glory became one with us. And when His parting words are fulfilled, "Love one another, as I have loved you" (John 15:12); when we love the world as He has loved it, then for us His mission is accomplished. We are fitted for heaven; for we have heaven in our hearts.    {DA 641.3}

The Sabbath is a sign to the world that we believe that Jesus is the Creator of the universe. Sabbath allows us the opportunity to interact with God on a very personal level and through that interaction we participate in righteousness by faith. As a result of this righteousness Satan will attack all facets of Sabbath, the law of God, and the sanctuary service. Satan wants to substitute a counterfeit for Sabbath by declaring that Sunday is a god approved replacement. He also declares that the law of God has been nullified by the Cross of Christ, and that the sanctuary service has been moved from Jerusalem to Rome and that the true high priest and prophet is the pope.

So indeed we must be careful to follow God and obey God and trust in God. Sabbath is the sign/mark of our surender to God and our trust in Him to care for our every need including salvation.

 I'm working a literature booth today. A lady stopped by my booth whom I canvassed a couple of years ago.
She is big into the Jewish feasts and accepts much of what SDAs believe. I don't think she is officially part of a feast keeping group but am not certain. I asked her today if she keeps the Sabbath. She said, "yes, normally I do but today I'm off."  How does that work ? There is something very wrong with that picture. Will she be  "off" when the NSL comes to be ? Does God give vacations from the Sabbath ? She is hitting many of the booths and signing up for drawings.

A man and his wife just left the booth. Even though things were very slow do to a festival nearby where 10,000 people purchased tickets and are listening to 4 bands set up out in the pasture, this young couple was the reason I'm  here today. He is a conservative Lutheran and former Catholic. He believes in the historical  approach to prophecy. We hit the high points of Daniel 2 and 7 as well as Revelation 12, 13, and 17. He was amazed when I was able to show him from Webster's dictionary the identification of the Scarlet Woman. I also had some pictures of the prelates from google who were dressed in purple and scarlet. Then we went through Rev. 13:18 and used Roman numerals to add up his name and then that of the pope. Though he had never seen many of these things before we were on the same page. He was most happy to take a Mark of the Beast paperback  with him. He had his appetite peeked enough to take and I trust, read the book. It was about 20 minutes of rapid study with him reading a few verses. He realizes that this nation is falling and it makes sense to him that the Vatican and the US would be key players. The correct interpretation of Rev. 13:11 resonates with many of the people today because they see this nation crumbling away before their eyes and they do not have a good feeling about our future.

we SDAs have so much truth .... pray God will bring searching souls to us that we may share the wonderful truths that have been revealed to us through SOP and bible study.
