Title: The Same God?
Post by: Richard OFfill on January 08, 2009, 10:25:59 AM
The Muslim may say that we worship the same God. That is not true because the true God forgives. This is important because the true followers of Jesus do too.

Unfortunately, there are SDAs with this misguided notion as well... you know, "we really should try not to ruffle any feathers.  After all, we all worship the same God."

To my mind, since Jehovah God has a standard... if we all worship Him, we should not consider it a 'ruffling of feathers' when that standard is lifted up.  By the same token, if we profess to live by His standard... should it not show in our dealing with others?

Hmmm... it might be that we have similar problems... no? :|

I think that what many call "worshiping a different God" is in reality just having a different perception of God and His character. If Islam does not worship the same God because of their view of His character, then Presbyterians also worship a different God based on their insistence that God predestines most of humanity to a eternal torture only because He did not "choose them for salvation" before they were born. Think about it.

the biggest problem is that Allah has no son....
without the Son, there is no life

I think it would be more accurate to say that Muslims, Jews and Christians are aiming at the same target - but some may be falling wider of the mark than others.  In the life to come, we will know as we are known, but in this life, our knowledge of God will be incomplete.  However, there is a lot we CAN know, if our minds are open and we're willing to accept what He says about Himself.

We worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  They say they worship the god of Abraham.  That to me is a problem.  There are many gods but only one true God.

Listen, that is very true. IMO it is impossible for a Christian to even hear the story of the founding of Islam and the writing of the Koran and accept as true the claim that the one true Creator God was the source of both Christianity and Islam. And if one reads the Koran, (which they claim was dictated to Muhammad by Allah), and reads the Bible, it is very clear (at least to me) :-) that the Bible and the Koran are not from the same source. Compared to the Bible, especially the KJV, the Koran is banal and spiritually empty.

For me, reading the Koran is something like reading the Book of Mormon. I am sure that we can safely conclude that the Koran and the Book of Mormon are from the same source. In comparing them, in addition to the banality, and the lack of truth, neither displays the simple poetic beauty and the elegant grandeur that is so striking in the KJV Bible.

so true Larry and Listen...

only the Bible has prophecy, no other book contains such

the Gnostic gospels proclaim that they worship the 'same' god but our God is a God of love, not one of hatred and killing,  our God says LOVE thy neighbor.

I;m astonished at how many people read the Gnostic books and believe THAT over their bibles!!

My advice would be not to spend any time reading such rubbish.  Spend your time reading and memorizing verses in the KJV bible.  They will come in handy some day soon....

God bless

The  Satanic verses declare that "Lat" "Uzza" "Manat"  a total of three demons ("goddesses") possessed Muhammad, and according to my best understanding of history the original Quran document was burned soon after his death, and historical sources become not always accepted by both sides of the fence, and Islam Awakened website has been recently edited a lot. so how do they know what is what for sure ?   (

Speaking of Issa ( Jesus Christ) child of Mary
al-Imran (The Family of Imran, The House of Imran)  as rendered by Ahmed Raza Khan (Barelvi)
3:48    And Allah will teach him the Book and wisdom and the Taurat (Torah) and Injeel (Bible) .     (   (
al-Ma`idah (The Table, The Table Spread)
as rendered by LiteralWord by Word 5:46    And We sent on their footsteps Isa, son (of) Maryam, confirming what (was) before him of the Taurat, and We gave him the Injeel, in it (was) Guidance and light and confirming what (was) before him of the Taurat and a Guidance and an admonition for the God conscious.

If the Bible & Torah are so bad, why did Allah teach them to Issa whom they and we agree is the sinless Messiah Intercessor and risk polluting Him?

It seems they respect the Bible    (

BTW in Arabic - God= Allah      in aramaic that Jesus used - God = The Aramaic word for "God" in the language of Assyrian Christians is ʼĔlāhā, or Alaha. Arabic-speakers of all Abrahamic faiths, including Christians and Jews, use the word "Allah" to mean "God". The Christian Arabs of today have no other word for "God" than "Allah".

An interesting study is lookup the names & titles of Jesus & compare with the 99 names for Allah, often they are describing Jesus.

Skillful SDA answering kindly respectfully logically wisely in righteousness video #1 then #35 onward.  (

non SDA debate   (

Phillip Saaman shows that the title of Allah is generic with arabic / and / aramaic with almost no phonetic difference, it is just that different views of Allah happen( Quran only view ) or (Torah, Psalms, Prophets, full Bible + Quran ) expands the view and understanding.  Different understandings of , right & wrong, and divine boundaries, are generated.  Actions follow.

Do you see both partial and full statements you as SDA's can agree with from the Injeel ( Bible) on these linked pages ?   (  (   (    (

Muslim views of Jewish & Catholic hierarchy and false worship are shown on this page .    (

SDA's follow the Injeel but other Christian denominations are a mystery to Muslims .  (

Accountability for deeds done before God - consider that joint understanding - as a platform to begin to explain the need for righteousness and cleansing by faith and purity of thought, speech, action through the work of the Interceding Messiah Issa ( Jesus Christ who was gifted into the womb of Mary of Nazareth . )    (
